Gesticare DHA Prenatal Multivitamin Review
Is Gesticare DHA a high quality prenatal vitamin?
Gesticare is a prescription prenatal vitamin that contains 1mg of folic acid which is standard these days for prescription prenatal vitamins. Gesticare was formulated specifically so that the calcium and iron were released in different places, to avoid any interference. The iron is released in the stomach and the calcium is released when it reaches the small intestine. This technology is fantastic, yet I am baffled as to why did they only include 200mg of calcium? The daily recommended amount is 1000mg. I would not consider Gesticare to be a high quality vitamin only because it lacks a few quality ingredients and quantities of key ingredients like iron, calcium. Other than the the absorption rate is good, and the folic acid is above average. It is exciting to see that pharmaceutical companies are adding DHA to their formulas, it is about time and I hope that one day ALL prenatal vitamins make follow the which will do wonders for your babys brain and eye development before and after birth.
Is Gesticare DHA Safe?
Gesticare is considered a safe prenatal vitamin if taken as directed. The DHA and EPA is derived from microalgae, not fish, so you don't have to worry about taking Gesticare if you have fish allergies.

The Bottom Line…
Gesticare is a good prenatal vitamin, especially if you are looking for one without fish derived DHA. I suggest taking an extra calcium supplement to make up for the lack of calcium in Gesticare. The side effects you may experience with Gesticare are common with most "normal" prenatal vitamins. If you want to avoid these side effects we suggest purchasing a high quality prenatal vitamin, as they usually help prevent these symptoms.
